This has nothing to do with politics. If it did, I would be pointing out the Warren supporter in Dayton, that killed his own sister. Did you read about the shooter in El Paso? Seems he was bullied for years by his classmates. Perhaps that had something to do with all the hate he was carrying around.
It is obvious though, that there are some things that can be done. I am a gun owner my self. But, I don't need an assault weapon for hunting or home protection. Yes, we should ban assault weapons. And we should do a better job of paying attention to who can buy a weapon.
But, do you really think it will stop the carnage of those that are disaffected?
Perhaps we should wait a bit, because I am sure that Uncle Joe will have the solution (or any other megalomaniac politician for that matter). Look back in history. Our revolution was settled by what? Our Civil War was settled how? How did we deal with the expansion of America versus the native habitants? Remember the days of Bonnie & Clyde? Or the Black Panthers?
So, perhaps you can tell me, how do we change a culture than began by taking up arms? No president or congressional committee will be able to do that. White nationalists, black cop killers or misguided homophobes will always exist, until we are all lobotomized or we allow a government like the Chinese to take over our lives and control our everyday lives, by violence against us if necessary.
Does that mean I am a champion of the status quo? Of course not. But, to toss gernades at each president that holds office, for what has been bred into our culture is ludicrous. And after over 200 years of existence, our government has been unable to come up with an answer to curtail the violence within our culture. So, if you think Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren or a host of others has some magic cure, you are altruistic at best.
