The FDA isn't favoring one side, they are saying only one side has presented an accepted scientific study.

The FDA approved a foreign pharmaceutical company's marijuana drug while denying Americans the same opportunity. Meanwhile, the DEA and others have been blocking research here in the states. Now, the FDA is citing a bunk science liver study which was directed by GW Pharmaceuticals --the same company with a financial interest in handing over the CBD industry in its entirety over to big pharma. You don't think even for one second that GW Pharmaceuticals would be tempted to throw in a bit of junk science (180,000 mg acute CBD doses in 75kg individuals) to stir up the pot and scare Americans into handing CBD over to big pharma due to its dangers? --Too much water will kill you btw if you didn't know, but I'm not going to ban stores from selling it due to this hidden danger that isn't posted on water labels.

You can't combat that with opinion and toxicology reports.

There's no need for opinion when you have experts from Project CBD that completely annihilated the validity of the study, and the FDA didn't even acknowledge that fact. The study is flawed, and it's troubling that the FDA grants credibility to such a flawed study. Maybe it's because it's the FDA that's flawed.

There's plenty of science on cannabis extracts from Israel. Try a google search. The stuff doesn't hurt the liver. You are part of Reefer Madness 2.0 with your deceptive "opinions."

I agree. CV Sciences and the rest of the CBD industry have been conducting safety studies for quite some time now. You should update yourself. I found a PubMed study that showed that NORMAL DOSES (not astromical doses like the GW Pharmaceuticals study) of CBD help the liver and even prevent damage to it from alcohol. I cited this study in my sticky post.

The whole industry whines about the FDA who is there in your best interest, to protect you from ingesting things that may be harmful...Like drug ingredients in food.

Until someone shows them undeniable proof...nothing will happen.

The cannabis industry has existed since ancient times. It has never killed anyone unless a 2 ton bale of it fell on someone's head. It was the first-listed medicine in Chinese emperor Shen-Nung's (2700 BC) pharmacopoeia. Trust me when I say that we know a lot about hemp and cannabis extracts. They don't kill you. CV Sciences uses hemp extract. GW Pharmaceuticals uses CBD isolate made from marijuana. CBD doesn't kill you at low-normal doses. --Period. The research is out there for those who choose to read it.

Has anyone considered what kind of precedent would be set if they allowed a drug ingredient in food, due to political pressure?

I can get a barrel of some Ibuprofen at Walgreens; I can eat those and screw up my stomach all day long if I want to; they kill 100,000 people a year. MSG is a drug, but it's in Chinese food. Caffeine is a drug, but it's in coffee. Nitrites are drugs, but they are added to deli meats. Sugar is a drug, but it's added to everything. The precedent was set a long, long time ago.

PS Remember the time that Coca Cola added cocaine to Coca Cola? --Hence the word "coca" in Coca Cola. And stop being a part of Reefer Madness 2.0; You are selling your soul by working for those guys that are putting out that nonsense; your arguments are identical to the arguments of the propagandists.

What case would they have for other drug ingredients not finding their way in to food? There are plenty of drugs that can already be proven not to be harmful in the correct dosages.

I already proved this question to be nonsensical. Go drink a highly caffeinated coffee at Starbucks and get your drugged coffee, and get off my monitor.
