I think the important thing as far as value is concerned initially is enrolling patients in the trial not finishing the trial. The example that my friend gave me was a company called Avexys who had only treated a handful of patients in their phase 1 trial yet Big Pharma paid over $8 billion dollars cash to take the company over. As I understand it Avexys had 1 patent and 1 therapy which only treated a small number of patients each year. I think this highlights the appetite the big companies have for biotech.
