You can't patent or get FDA drug approval for something you extract from a plant or seed unless you modify the molecule in some manner - they may just have another dietary supplement on their hands, and health insurance does not cover DS. Not saying the don't have some interested stuff being worked on, but whether they'll ever make money with it is up for debate - w/o patents, any other DS maker can duplicate it and steal sales. Frankly, after looking at their financials, I don't know how they're even keeping the lights on, let alone doing IR&D.
