Targeting stem cells could be very tricky. CD133 is a cell-surface transmembrane protein found on neural stem cells, which give rise to neurons and glial cells, on hematopoietic stem cells, which give rise to red and white blood cells, and other cells.

Exchanging the chance to recover from brain or spinal cord injury, or produce an immune system, in order to fight cancer seems problematic.
