But here you have a young multi millionaire already spending a huge amount in a hostile takeover, and will have to spend more, to try and gain control of IFLM, and you have the ceo trying to maintain control of a company that on the outside looks like it is worth negative value.

Well... The young multi-millionaire has so far spent only $61K, by someone's calculations. That's not a "huge amount" for a guy with deep pockets.

Jeff Ritchie isn't trying to maintain control; he sold his control position to Theo Hanson. Presumably Hanson paid Ritchie for the shell. He wouldn't want to be out whatever he spent, and Ritchie wouldn't want to be deprived of his own gain. So yes, they're going to do their best to get Jake out of the picture, because both stand to gain by doing so.

That DOES make sense. What doesn't is Jake's apparent refusal to understand that the control block exists, and is now owned by Hanson.

Unless there are elements of the story that haven't yet come to light.
