I don’t think it is fair to think of the sale of a company as simple as a craigslist ad that receives no interest so the company is not worth it. Companies get partnered and bought sometimes for the desire to have the product, sometimes it is for fear of losing market share, possibly from a competitor that buys it instead of them. I don’t know how Gilead can not see how this drug can take huge market share from them. I don’t see how any pharma with cash can’t see how this drug could generate huge revenue very soon. There is no doubt the pressure is building and deals will be done. What other drugs are out there that are as compelling as this one and this far along in development? It is well known already that the drug works and is safe, why would it be held to so much higher standard than others?

I don’t think mgmt is bread in making deals, until they brought in people that are. The lack of a deal up to now is a good thing, it did not get sold when funds were tight and the company was in desperation mode. The drug was not sold before it is a potential cancer drug. We are now in a great negotiating position and have people who can negotiate.
