And further, if it were all a ruse, why would they use Shinewing to begin with and not some unheard of local audit firm? They could have probably gotten an audit done by a firm even if they weren't legit as I am sure they could find someone to sign off on it for the right amount of money.
But instead they are using a high profile, PCAOB registered SEC audit firm as there intention from the start was to be a SEC filer.
So even using a firm that could get them in trouble, if fraud is happening a PCAOB firm does not just walk away but would alert the associated parties of what is going on as otherwise they can be deemed complicit by remaining silent when they know of fraudulent activity is going on tells me that things have to be somewhat on the up and up or why would you potentially expose yourself like that.
