I don't know about that. I do know Laffer has been critical of tariffs and a trade war. He did co-write a book that was supportive of "Trumponomics" (probably the real reason for the medal), but that was published before Trump went off on his trade war wagon.

Maybe Trump hasn't paid any attention to Laffer lately??
