Were you to have made those remarks just a short time ago you, and all here, know what the reaction would have been.
The situation is different now. In looking for answers even the most solid assumptions would get challenged.
The choice of the S.Bros business reputation as the key vehicle to the fully operational "play" was critical.
Were there never a frame of reference that appeared solid, profitable and accessable the whole "play" would never have worked. Investors here and elsewhere, when challenging the questionable dynamics of certain company moves, were always given the solidity of the S. Bros business as the paradyne of honesty and trustworthiness.
An individual on this board, who is mistakenly revered as the "longs long", was this families chief defender. Coming from the same region he had built in credibility. He was wrong....either by coincidence or by design. We will never know.
Money will do strange things to people. Makes them make choices that appear irrational, ones we would never even consider.
IMO: It is a very sad day for that family. Even though they are now very very rich.
Invest in yourself first and the rest will follow. The universe is ultimate hedge fund.
