Nobody is disputing the full length of the Persian Gulf War. You confirm, again, that you really are a cheap shot artist.
Stating that Desert Storm was a 100 hour war is technically inaccurate, but for you to jump on it means that you have to believe that newmedman's TV broke on Jan 16th of '91, and he didn't replace it until the ground war kicked off. Also the radio in his car was broke, he didn't read newspapers and none of his coworkers said "hey, how about this war?"
In other words you jumped on the equivalent of a typo.
You jumped on it to pick a fight because, and only because, you assumed a lesser degree of knowledge about the war than you have.
And that clearly requires a leap of faith on your part that exactly none of your ill-informed and fact-challenged posts suggest that you should have made. Never SHOULD make on this or any other board that you troll.
Lastly, pointing out that a ground war, that was expected to cost many more American lives than it did, lasted only 100 hours, diminishes it naught. It speaks to good generalship and good fortune is all.
The initial conflict to expel Iraqi troops from Kuwait began with an aerial and naval bombardment on 17 January 1991, continuing for five weeks. This was followed by a ground assault on 24 February. This was a decisive victory for the coalition forces, who liberated Kuwait and advanced into Iraqi territory. The coalition ceased its advance and declared a ceasefire 100 hours after the ground campaign started. Aerial and ground combat was confined to Iraq, Kuwait, and areas on Saudi Arabia's border. Iraq launched Scud missiles against coalition military targets in Saudi Arabia and against Israel.
