CC store display posts from this week. I may have missed a couple of posts. If so, sorry. I made it simple and just copied the text. Combined the CA stores at the top then sorta random. Maybe we can get out and around just before Thanksgiving to see if they have geared up for "Hectic Friday".
11/12 Northridge CA, about 6 miles N. of LA International Airport
OMG OMG....Just went to CC in my area...Northridge (of 94 earthquake fame)....has always had end cap near front of store but I was pleasantly pleasantly surprised today...You walk in the front door and right there in front of you is a table and on it is Firedog(one would expect that) but guess who is keeping company on the same table....that’s right gzfx!!!..so I go look to see if that was just a substitute for the end cap but that was there too...on the way to check that endcap (near front of store) I notice our jewel cases on the register!!!!! So that is 3 different exposure pts.....I can imagine what else is being ramped up....I will send picture I took from my phone later when my son makes it possible!!!! CC circular says we have 40K titles btw.....I have to admit I figured there would be no change at CC NR but damn I’m excited and don’t get very easily as I think we are baggies...Luck to all us baggies (later post of several pictures)
11/12 Torrance (Southern) CA
Stopped by the Torrance, CA CC this past week-end. Jewel cases had been restocked at the Games register and a Fire-Dog rep said that the store employee holiday meeting is coming up on the 19th to brief for the holidays. He also said he had sold "a couple" of cases himself and that they appeared to be selling more lately.
11/12 Culver (So. CA)
Was also in the Culver City, CA CC to find GZ displayed in three separate spots in the store notably moved from floor level to waist high and the games rep very well informed about the program.
11/13 Woodland Hills CA (post displayed a picture of cases on a checkout stand)
This is the Woodland HIlls store in Ca...Its in what’s called Warner Center a Biz hub with Hotels and convention center and such. The store is huge and as you walk in there is a greeting booth and very close by are some check out stands where I found the jewel cases proudly displayed here....My search continues.....
11/16/06 Thousand Oaks CA, NW of LA
I just got back from the Thousand Oaks Circuit City and was very happy with what I saw. GNF jewel cases were displayed next to the gaming section and were in a very visible location. Last time I went to CC, they were not located in the same spot and I had a hard time finding them.
It seems that CC is turning up their GNF push in combination with the new gaming platforms. Good news for us although we need the PPS to start reflecting this push.
11/11 Hawaii
I went to the local CC here in Honolulu to see if they had us on the shelves. When I started struggling to find it I asked a clerk who knew right away what I was talking about, but had to show me on her computer instead of taking me to a display. Then as I was on my way out I spotted lonely old Gameznflix with two rows of boxes on the bottom shelf. They were in a good location in the middle isle where all the games and movies are. Unfortunately I don't think Gameznflix will catch on out here because the turnaround time is horrible 8 days (tried it out myself for 2 months). The good thing is Hawaii is not going to make or brake our little company. Now as Christmas present to us all let's get this PPS up to a penny.

Just some info for the board. I live in Phoenix. I went into a CC today and found the GZ rack on one of the main isles. Not exactly front and center but well within view. As far as the service goes, I sent back 3 DVDs on Sat and received 2 dvds and a game today. All in all not too shabby FWIW!

Last time I went a few weeks ago the display was were it has always been. On an endcap by the games. Not great, but not bad. I plan to go back this weekend and over the Thanksgiving holidays to see if it has ramped up at all. I'm in Houston Texas.

I was in the CC in Mt. Laurel, NJ (just outside of Philadelphia) Sunday morning, and was happy to see that they have GnF jewel cases actually on the counter in every checkout line. You basically couldn't buy something in CC and not see the GnF jewel cases...
11/15 Brooklyn NY
Just got back from the CC store at Gateway in Brooklyn NY. I walked all over the store looking for the jewel cases... finally someone asked if they could help me. I told them about GnF and they kinda just stared. When I said "You never heard of it right?" She said..."Oh yes I have heard of it... I just don't think we have it." Another clerk I talked to went in back to see if it was on the 'coming out list' and she came back and said "You have to get that on CC.com." I told her I have seen photos of the jewel cases in other stores and then she said "well maybe there will be a big push in a few weeks"
Needless to say I left disappointed. -sigh
PS there were maybe 20 - 30 kids 'camped out front' of the CC store... waiting for PS3

Well Xanadu, just got back from the Batavia, Illinois store and the GnF jewel case was nowhere to be found. I finally asked about it and the young lady found it under register #3. There were about 8 jewel cases... I've got nothing more to add, totally disgusted.
11/16/06 Elmwood Park IL
Xan, last weekend I visited the Elmwood Park, IL store. They still had the cases on the same endcap next to the games section. They are at eyeview. Looked to be about 20 cases available.
If I have a chance this weekend I will stop over at the Niles, IL store. A little further, but I could also make a stop at the Kildeer store where they had a lot of cases available.

I visited one of my local CC's (Colorado Springs) a couple of hours ago. GNF cases on 8 hooks (3 last time), but still on an endcap near the CD section. I doubt many will see it, but I could be wrong.

Went to CC in Arlington Texas today. Had a guy who is a Gen-c expert tell me all about GZFX. It was present at all check out areas. He said they sell about 20 to 30 per month. Sometimes it is really heavy. He said the all the DFW stores are Gen-c. One of the only market places in the US that has this specialist on duty. His job is to promote all the special service items like GZFX. He knew quite a bit, enough to get someone to buy even though he did not know exact prices for NTFX. He also is to train all staff in the game area about the product as well as others who have it near such as check out. He said they are using it as a promo and giving it away with game units or TV's etc. I was impressed. While checking out I asked the dude behind the counter and he used it and owned stock. If CC gets this GEN-c guy or gal in every store we will make some good headway with CC.
