When I see the word "granted," I think of the word "given," as in there was no payment. However, this is from Gaeta Therapeutics' landing page:

Gaeta’s patent portfolio protects the use of locally delivered IL-12, whether through protein/fusion protein, nucleic acid or oncoviral expression, in combination with CTLA4, PD1 or PDL1 checkpoint blockade. This Intellectual Property is available for license and Gaeta Therapeutics is presently finalising a worldwide framework of exclusive and non-exclusive licenses.

Seems to me that OncoSec purchased a license unless one was "granted" ("given"). I doubt any company would just hand over its intellectual property to another. I don't think we have all the information.
