The article I posted describes the spike in lumber prices, $6-9000 per house due to tariffs. Labor has not spiked at the same rate in the same time frame, but it certainly is a factor.

My philosophy is to not hire carpenters that don't have all their fingers. I can care less about their heritage. I mostly hire Mennonites when I need a craftsman, they are abundant and honest where i live. I just built a shop that was finished yesterday, and unlike trump, I can honestly say none of my workers were immigrants.
