Trumps 20% tariff on canadian lumber is not really working so well. Lumber from my area is still more expensive than canadian wood even with the tariff. It makes my timberland worth more, but in practice, it just means anyone building a house will spend many thousands more. Just another trump tax. And as if cutting more american forests is an objective. Why, we could just rake them and all would be fine. Truth is, wood salvaged from wildfire is worth less, but has the market flooded, yet still not cheaper than canadian wood. Imagine building your dream home of wood that has a vague smell of campfire, NOT.
