well, adding a 25% tax on many consumer goods really helps out people that are living paycheck to paycheck, right? And with a bonus of trashing their retirement accounts... Trumpsters are just too culted out to even realize they are being thrashed by their feuhrer.

The tariff might have had a neutral or positive effect in about 1990, but the manufacturing base is too far gone to be brought back to competitive levels, and re-tooling would end up automating most of the old manufacturing jobs anyway.
