He's doing something about it alright - he's making it worse. They have radio ads running in Honduras saying Trump is going to close the border so if you ever want to go to the US now is the time. His policies are designed with the utmost cruelty in mind. That you cheer him on only tells us not only are you a racist SOB but also a sadistic one as well.
