gfp: I'm still well under water with CVM. But it is showing signs of life. Their Phase III study is just waiting to complete. The hold up, apparently, is then need a certain number of patients to die to complete the study. And that is taking longer than anticipated. So that in and of itself is a positive. The fact that an Independent Monitoring Committee likes what it has seen so far is a real positive. So far they are only testing it in Head and Neck cancer. But theoretically the approach would seem to be beneficial in almost any type of solid tumor cancer. You pretreat patients to "rev up" their immune system and allow it to fight the cancer first, before you start giving chemo or radiation which deplete the body's immune system. They only need to show about a 15% improvement in morbidity and mortality to make the case for approval. I think they will do much better than that. I'm cautiously optimistic. Of course some type of Nationalized Healthcare like "Medicare for All" would kill the whole pharmaceutical marketplace and CVM along with it. The price controls that went along with the government payor system would kill drug innovation.
