nwsun, i've wavered on it myself at times, even relatively recently on the far-right Norwegian Brevik. But long before, it was learning
of cases where later evidence proved beyond doubt that police and/or others had stitched others up which first consolidated my
position. Very long ago there was a case in New Zealand where police planted a gun, then too late, years later, the truth came out.
The suck of vengeance is compelling, but the fact that innocent people have been executed by the state - as in war - is stronger.

It is ironic that so many Christians, Muslims et al favor the death penalty unreservedly when fact is innocents have been executed by their states.
