Go visit these guys at WAVX in Cupertino and I wouldn't be surprised if it looked like a ghost town that at one time had lots of VC money to burn through and now are facing the realities of desperate measures. I haven't been there so I could be very wrong but just guessing on past similar what appears to be pumping excursions.
