What did you see on the GOP side in at this point in '15?

Actually, I thought Kasich had a good shot. But it appears that the discontent in America was so great and extreme case of "Fuck the Establishment" that it became the deciding factor in the primaries.

Actually, I did not think Trump had a chance of winning that primary, let alone the Presidency, when it all began. The one thing I did know was, I would have voted for anybody but Hillary, as probably many of the people that voted for Trump felt.

That makes no sense. Did conservatives believe those promises would be fulfilled with a Dem majority House?

It was a message to Conservatives. Many Republican voters probably did not vote because they became so discouraged by promises not kept. And, the liberals were energized. Curious that we did not seem to see the same result in the Senate. But then, Paul Ryan screwed the pooch, when it came to getting things to the floor, like immigration reform and the funding for the Wall, he promised Trump, if he would sign the omnibus spending bill that got passed. And his debacle of replacing Obamacare was so pitiful it was his and the Conservatives in the Houses doom. He knew. That is why he retired from politics, rather than getting his butt kicked seeking another term.

Again, 2020 will be very interesting and revealing.
