i have a funny feeling the dose used was not reflective of pharmacological dosing in human trials
i am not a pharmacologist, and don;t knwo how animal dosing translates to human, but it appears that concentrations were used that are comparable with 500 mg PER KG daily doses of nm-283 (i assume this was because idix had published on comparable doses from their pre-clinical studies). as we know 200-800 mg/DAY are given clinically
just a thought/guess
