The article is not about how CCAA works in conjunction with Chapter 11 but is a comparison of the two since CCAA is one of the comparable proceedings to Chapter 11 in the US.

BioAmber is under CCAA proceedings in Canada and went to liquidation.

Shareholders of BIOAQ no longer have an interest or stake in the assets of BioAmber since creditors claims are not going to be satisfied.
