Isn't Lovenox a direct factor Xa inhibitor of some sorts? At least that's how you measure its activity. I think that's why they sell a ton of it. Just about every single antithrombotic indication is covered by this Aventis gem that Sanofi snarfed up. King of the hill. Direct thrombin inhibitors are used when you can't use lovenox but try as they might they haven't taken over any of lovenox indications in any major way. No other LMWH's come close in terms of FDA approved indications. If Atryn is to succeed in non-HD indications its anti-inflammatory properties will need to shine through. JMO.

Factor VIIa is not any kind of brass ring and NOT the reason the LFB deal went thru (for 20% of a sure thing!!!). There must be much more to it than that or I'm an idiot.
