Material assets simply mean assets that will make a company or individual rich if he/she owns it.

Non material assets are such as a flag, a belief, a sentiment. etc. for which one cannot sell for money.

What the trust said is that it has nothing in its hand currently that can make money, whether it is pure cash or marketable assets.
