This is big business storing this stuff and is costing the taxpayers a fortune as congress promised these nuclear power companies they would take their radioactive storage. When they decommission a plant they have to keep the material safe and under-guard. In our state we have a plant that hasn't produced anything in 27 years and just to store and guard the stuff it has cost close to 800 million. They are now asking for another 100 million.
