*Friendable Review* Updated Version

I have previously reviewed this app. I must say it is an improvement over the older version from a couple of years ago. To recap, the old version seemed slow and clunky like you were using a desktop version. There was also no difference between the free version and the paid version. There were very few users, maybe three in the furthest radius allowed for the Washington, DC area. As for positive feedback, I did like the map feature which better puts into perspective distances of potential matches. I also liked the ability to organize events or socials and have other users be able to see those events. Now, my review of the new version.

The new version’s user interface is updated and more user friendly as I would expect with any mobile platform. It’s main feature is much like Tinder and Bumble as you can swipe left or right on potential matches or search for matches in the local area similar to OkCupid. These features are available on free version. In the premium version which is available as an in-app purchase 30 days for $5.99USD or 365 days for $12.99USD you have an enhanced experience. The premium version allows you to video or audio chat with matches as well as “teleport” your location if you want to match with someone before upcoming travel. The video chat is a really good feature considering the amount of catfish, cam-models, and con-artists out there. Hopefully it is managed well to protect users from inappropriate content though. I should also mention that the MeetMe app has live video as well, but it’s it’s based on a public room instead of a match basis. As for the negatives I believe the price point is too high as there were only 3 potential matches within a 500km radius of Washington, DC. I think it should be less until there is a higher user base. Of those potential matches none of their pictures loaded. Either they didn’t have any uploaded or the system was buggy and wouldn’t let them load. I also feel as if the ability to organize an event could have been a feature they kept in the new version. I have seen people create events on tinder by creating a Facebook profile for the event and adding that event as a person on Tinder. It would be nice for everyone to be able to see events organized by users, as was the intent of Friendable be a social app. It now appears to be just catering to the dating crowd which could limit its user base. If they can figure out how to increase their users, this app may have a competing chance, but I have only seen the updated app marketed to investors which is huge problem. Sorry, but I don’t want to date any of you!

Anyways, the new version is 1000 times better than the old version, but is it too late considering the concentration of dating apps already on the market? Only time will tell.
