Looks to me like what he's got in his hands is just the insert to a domed tray.
In my experience, the domed trays are little biospheres that need very little water.
They almost create all the water they need inside the domes by trapping the humidity.
An Ebb and Flood system, imo would be overkill with these little ones.
If you look closely, the clones in his hands are about the same size as the clones in the tray on the shelf by his head.
Regardless, clones that size are within maybe 2 weeks of needing to be transplanted and starting the next phase of growth.
First, vegetative for a few weeks, then flowering...
All coming together very quickly now, thank goodness...
