Have you ever had to live during a strike?

My husband was on strike for 7 months but at the time he was only 19 and still living at home.

After we were married with a home and two kids he was on strike for 4 months.

I was a stay at home Mom at the time so his income was the only income we had.

The bank where we had our mortgage didn’t want to hear about a strike and neither did the bank where we had our car loans.

We got through the first month or 6 weeks by using our small savings and then we had to start using our credit cards. Unemployment insurance and union payments for picketing didn’t go too far but at least we had that. The Federal workers aren’t getting anything.

It took us YEARS to recover.

Why is it that Republicans have absolutely no compassion for people who are suffering.

I guess the only way you will care is if your social security check stops coming.
