Non Contamination of Ambient Air is key here I believe. There is no second hand smoke with this patent.... Imagine how valuable that is with the recent health concerns!

" The Patent, titled SMOKING DEVICE, CHARGING MEANS AND METHOD OF USING IT, was invented by Dr. Wang, who currently leads Smokefree's R&D in China, and is assigned to Smokefree Innotec. The patent relates to a technology used for heating a substance for inhalation, without an atomizer as with other e-cigs, and without combustion nor producing vapor, so that the ambient air is not contaminated with the substance."

This could be key as ambient air would be the second hand air. This could be extremely important also if this is taken the the MJ field so to speak :)

I wonder if this patent also lessens the possible dangers associated with vaping? IDK
