DJ – the desire to use the facility for their own projects has never changed since the facility was first hinted at. It’s even been part of the business objectives on the website for well over a year now.

“Develop a cGMP manufacturing facility to produce DNA drug substance for CytoGenix products in development. Additional capacity will be utilized for the manufacturing campaigns on a fee-for-service basis.”

They had originally budgeted $2M for the plant but even at close to $4M, given the old fermented DNA price of $250K per gram and 10-12 grams need for an ssDNA clinical trial, the plant has a two trial payback – and selling the excess capacity is gravy. Pretty much a no brainer – but it’s definitely time to get the IND submissions in so that they can take full advantage of it.
