Instead of compromising to avoid a shut down he said he would own it unless he got his $5.7B for his fucking wall.

He is standing up for what he believes to be right. My fear is he will cave and not keep his promise to build a wall. (Whether Mexico pays for it or not.)

You and Trump can explain that to all the federal workers who won't get a paycheck next week.
