Keep in mind that Mnuchin’s interview with Bloomberg yesterday dealt with his entire 2019 agenda not just the GSEs. It’s not like he gave a speech on GSE reform. Nor did he say anything new. I’m surprised that prices moved so much.

To answer your question if the timing of this interview is relevant in response to the Demarco, Parrot, Stevens, et al Op-Ed in The Hill: no.
