KSTP Reporter Jessica Miles recently traveled more than four hours north, past Hibbing, where a South African mining company called Anglo Gold Ashanti is drilling to find gold.

Since then, the company has drilled more than a hundred holes into the ground to try to find that gold.

A company spokesperson said they haven't found any gold yet but the early results have been promising.

"For every 1,000 prospects that are investigated, only about three turn into mines," the spokesperson said. "That is the ultimate goal."
