I don't hate CEFs, I just hate the recent crop of gimmick CEFs with big premiums, and the trend to flipping them for lord knows what reason. There's no evidence that "dividend capture" works.

In a major crash, buying a conservative CEF at a deep discount provides diversification, good REAL yield, a high degree of safety and a chance for appreciation. Several of them have pedigrees that date back before the Great Depression including my ADX. (also TY)

But what's happening now? Where'd CLM's premium go so suddenly? Perhaps the SEC is asking questions, which they probably should do. CEF's are no longer a tiny sliver of the investing world.

BTW, another CEF that's blown up lately is ASG. It's also coming off a RO.
