He has some very serious legal issues. The NY Times piece is a bomb, and it's backed up with actual documentation.

It will be interesting to see where Kavanaugh comes down on dual sovereignty. Can Trump pardon crimes committed in New York or New Jersey? Can Trump pardon himself? There sure a hell are a ton of them.

Even if he can pardon the crimes, he can't thwart any sort of civil action. Stay tuned.
