Daily Kos raises over $250,000 in 48 hours to defeat Kavanaugh-confirming senators

In the span of just two days, Daily Kos has already raised over a quarter of a million dollars to defeat Republican U.S. senators who voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. The Daily Kos community activated immediately after Sen. Susan Collins announced her intent to support his confirmation on Friday; other targets include Sens. Dean Heller, Ted Cruz, Joni Ernst, Cory Gardner, Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell, David Perdue, and Thom Tillis.

“The vote to confirm Kavanaugh was a horrific act perpetrated by a gang of GOP senators who represent a minority of the country,” said Daily Kos political director David Nir. “Because many won’t have to face voters for at least another two years, these Republicans think they can hide from the consequences of their actions. But progressives are already rallying to hold these lawmakers accountable with a passion that’s translating into real money to evict them from the Senate, both in this election and the next..

“The confirmation of Kavanaugh to the highest court in the land is an obscenity. Republicans are going to pay for this vote both on Nov. 6 and for a long time to come.”
