Bullwinkle, there are many reasons inflation has remained in check. As measured by the government standards, which we all realize is little more than dealing from the bottom of the deck.

You live in CA, and no we won't hold that against you (GGG).
I have no idea of your age but I do wish to make a point that may or may not be seen in your state now. In the 70's (great years in CA, no fear of aids or herpes) Hispanics did a lot of the menial labor.

Here in Tennessee and most of the southeast, you can not find a road construction crew or landscaping operation that is not ALL Hispanic. A growing portion the local economy is conducted by these people. They are day workers who receive no benefits. Yes, productivity looks great. These cheap workers are not counted in any stats and there seems to be an endless supply of them .

What little manufacturing that still exists here is heavily populated by them.

They are a good hard working people that Clinton opened the doors for. Bush goes for it also.

Bottom line is that costs are contained in my area of the country by utilizing these people
