My Dad drove a tank in the Korean War. His real claim to fame was in Ft. Knox. He was in uniform and had no idea where to go. There was a line at some bar, so he figured it must be a good spot. When he got to the front of the line, the bouncer asked him who he was with? The gentleman behind him spoke up and said he was with him. That was Johnny Cash. He later came over to Dad's table and bought him a drink and talked a bit. Needless to say, Johnny Cash was a hero at our household.
I always thought Dad went into the Army because his scores weren't high enough to get into the Air Force. Isn't that why anybody joins any other branch? LOLOL
