I initially thought about it purely from the man's view point, and it is certainly true from that view point, but then figured that it had to be true, at least in some respects, for women as well -- since we are the ones they have to put up with. Then again, maybe it would be more appropriate, from their viewpoint, for it to read:
"It takes a woman to suffer pigheadedness and smile."
or
"It takes a real woman to suffer man and smile."
As the wife just walked into the room for the third time saying "waiting on you," she really gave me a strange look when I asked her if she was smiling.
