By court order. All you have to do is buy a few shares and petition the court to become custodian. You do, of course, have to demonstrate that the company has been abandoned by management. That's pretty easy. The companies in question have had their corporate charters revoked in Nevada or whatever their home state is. The individual or entity seeking custodianship will have to show that he served the company with notice of his action at the company's last known address, but that's all.
