My pleasure. First, I'll presume that you and IxCimi are the same poster since that was the post you referenced. I understood the point that you were trying to make, that while we avoided the deflationary recession/depression, we (metaphorically) shot ourselves in the head by increasing the debt. While some may have thought your analogy to be a counter argument to my economic thesis, I don't see it that way. I deal in logic and in fact.

Rather than go into a long diatribe of philosophy and logic, let me be basic and state that our two posts were equivalent in that they were both logical propositions of fact. My post dealt with the fundamental mechanics of fiscal policy, and the quantifiable economic facts that transpired since the deflation threat that began in 1997. Your statement also described a fact of reality. If one "blows their brains out," the probability of death from disease falls to zero. If you apply that statement metaphorically to the economy, it loses its truth and no longer becomes fact. If you disagree, then you must prove that we are dead economically and thus impervious to all other harmful stimuli. That argument cannot be proven to be true, thus negating your analogy as a counter argument.

So what we are left with are two statements of fact. Me: Our nation avoided deflation. You: If you're dead, you don't have to worry about dying from disease. Two statements that are not in conflict, thus they are in agreement. That is how I found your post to be amicable to mine. Allow me to quote Wittgenstein, The world is the totality of facts, not of things. The world is determined by the facts, and by their being all the facts. (Emphasis of 'all' was Wittgenstein's)

As far as "swaying a jury", I don't have such high expectations on this post. I champion truth, and challenge thought, I don't expect people to change their mind because of something I say here, anymore then one can naively believe to meaningfully impact my thought process by what they post.
