Why did he resign?

Because the entire women's caucus piled on and I believe he didn't want to tear the party apart. I blame Kirsten Gillibrand who wants to run for president and didn't want Al as competition.

Funny, she hasn't said peep about Jim Jordan who enabled a pedophile doctor for years and might very well become the next speaker of the house. Why hasn't she called for his resignation?
