I don't agree that this definitively excludes the idea that Trumpf has integrated PR3D and is branding it as their own. They may be taking the stance that 'they' developed it in cooperation with SGLB via the OEM agreement. The 'Sigma Inside' model has been discussed for some time, but who said the machine maker would be required to put a sticker on it. There are many components inside the machines that are the product of other companies, but they don't get any credit on the marketing.

Where does it say Sigma Labs? They didn't mention us, because it's their melt pool monitoring system. It doesn't mean that our product won't be needed by manufacturers, but rather that Trumpf is catching up to their competition and finally have something available as opposed to nothing. Sigma's PrintRite3D and it's algorithms will still be needed by those looking for serial production, IMO.

Monitoring solutions check the quality after every shift

To prevent that, TRUMPF developed several processes to assure the quality of components during printing, one of which is powder bed monitoring. A high-resolution camera in the printer takes a picture of the powder bed after each shift and sends this image to an IT system. It assesses images in real time, detects flaws, and automatically notifies the machine operator. "The images can also serve to analyze faults and sustainably improve the process," says Baur. This IT system also categorizes the fault and provides details to help engineers correct the problem.
