McCain's campaign was in serious financial trouble and the conservs insisted he take Palin onboard or they would withdraw their $$$ support - McC made a deal with the devil which, in his book, he admits was a mistake...His gut told him to pick Joe Liberman (I-CT), a guy he knew and trusted, a guy experienced in foreign policy, but a guy who was against the pro-life movement - a no-no with conservs.
