they all probably happened but not the way
the media says it did. You know that scenario.

As for the Forrestal that happened in 1967. I joined the Navy in Jan 1968 and I can tell you that when going through boot camp we spent more time on firefighting than anything because of the Forrestal. I saw more film from on board cameras than you can imagine. First of all jets getting ready to take off are positioned on the flight deck have their exhaust pointed overboard. If ever there was a plane behind them it was already running. McCain's A-4 was on the port side with many others aft who had already started their engines waiting to take off. The ship was launching and they video record everything. On the starboard side behind the island F-4 Phantoms were starting. Stray voltage fired a rocket on a F-4 that went across
and hit McCain's external fuel tank. McCain was obviously aware what happened. He got out and climbed to the nose of his plane and jumped to the deck into flames and somehow got to the island. Other pilots in planes next to him weren't so lucky. This all happened faster than you can imagine. I bet you can find video somewhere after 50 years. What happened on the Forrestal is not questionable. It was tragic and a big deal that changed Navy procedures for the better. McCain had nothing to do with it except it was his plane the rocket hit!!!
