Do people always develop drugs without patents? Is this wise?

Do drugs cost a lot of money to develop. Is managements decision to move forward with substantial investment without a patent wise?

Do you expect to see a large expense related to this "advance" in the next Q?

What will this do to their coveted balance sheet? I have not seen any outside investors have you?
