Julius Malema: “The EFF is in charge — the ANC is following us.”
JOHANNESBURG — Despite having less than 10% of the national vote, the egos of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have been bloated lately thanks to a stumbling ANC. The EFF opportunistically forced the ANC into a corner earlier this year on land expropriation without compensation just after Cyril Ramaphosa came to occupy the country’s top political job. But the small party eyes greater victories in years to come, as last week it put forward a draft bill to nationalise the Reserve Bank. It seems unlikely that the EFF will get everything that it wants, especially considering its small support base and low number of MPs in Parliament. But the fact that it’s got as far as it has shows how ideologically confused the ANC is at the moment. – Gareth van Zyl

(Bloomberg) — Julius Malema, the enfant terrible of South African politics, feels he’s got President Cyril Ramaphosa just where he wants him.
The EFF feels a bit like your TeaParty mob. By that i mean they look more ideology fixated than the ANC, More radical. Afrikaner abuse of South African blacks won't be easy to redress. And will take some time.
As most everywhere inequality, which your conservative side works to make worse, lies close to many of the difficulties South Africans face.
