There is no reason why priests should not be able to marry.

That's true but I don't think not being able to marry is the problem with the pedophilia issue in the CC. My theory is that many pedophiles become priests because it's an easy way to fulfill their fantasies without having to work very hard at it. Children are plentiful and an easy mark for a sexually deviant priest.
