once you understand that immigrants actually add to the economy as opposed to subtracting from it, you're left with the actual truth of your convictions.
I paraphrase but I think it went something like this... "Why do we have to take people from all these shithole countries? Why can't we have more people from Norway?"
Who'd have imagined that the son of a Syrian refugee would start the first trillion dollar company in history?
Who'd have thought Georgia or Alabama would lose a billion dollar crop because immigrants are afraid to come harvest it?
Who'd have thought a supposedly rational person would claim that not taking severely disabled immigrants justifies ripping perfectly healthy children from their mothers' arms while they're literally fleeing for their lives? But then, why would we suppose a smug, self-satisfied, bigot would be a rational person.
